about
This one slaps live... It is in many ways simpler than other tracks on the album but we reckon Evil has the best bass lines on the record, hands down.(at least when it gets going eventually haha).
We get quite a bit of flack for our long intros but we'll never stop... long intros are fun and interesting. We have song intros longer than some commercial releases out there. Now that's a protest, right?
An interesting factoid here is that Chris tracked the last "I've asked forgiveness" repetition in one take (2 or 3 times). On the second one we just let it run and he pinned one more "I've asked forgiveness" in there right at the death! Not planned, not written... It just happened and it's great. There's plenty of this "spontaneity" all through out the album.
lyrics
Paint the pentagram
Fire feed the world
I'm the devil man
Say it aint so
The sacrificial lamb
Devouring the soul
I'm the devil man
I am evil
I've asked forgiveness
I'm the son of Sam
The nether leader
I'm the devil man
Say it aint so
Fever grips the fangs
Apocalyptic whore
I'm the devil man
I am evil
For some reason, what I previewed and the real songs was somewhat different - maybe because of the cover art?
But I definitely don't regret something more spacial than expected. The recent Ocean drifting in space. frankwurst
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
Roaring space rock from this London group, with every instrument turned up to 10, and all of the songs reaching stunning crescendos. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 9, 2019
It's only four tracks, yes, but it's four tracks of great cosmic psychedelia.
